Photo collage challenge

Photo collages, fun and easy little projects to do. I’ve never tried doing them before so I thought I’d have a quiet day taking photos and giving it a go.

My first attempt at a photo collage didn’t work out great but I’m still happy with it as a first go.

My first go wasn’t great. I think it’s got more to do with the subject than anything, I should have just photographed the trees or the fountain behind it.

I like the effect on the branches but the closer to the middle of the image you get the more normal it looks which throws the image a bit as well as the fact I didn’t take photo’s of the ground so everything just looks a little off balance.

So for my next go I want to try another subject and increase the amount of images as well as increasing the area I shoot.

My second go turned out much better. One of the things I like is that the weather was nice and bright but with clouds so some of the photos were taken while the sun was out and some while the sun was covered so you get a nice variety to the images.

There are still a few mistakes but the subject was a much better choice and the unfinished edge somehow makes it feel more balanced.

Photo collages are a lot of fun and didn’t take too long to produce, once the images were taken I put the JPEG’s into photoshop and moved them around overall I’d say it only took about 20 minutes to produce the second image.

I’d really like to try this with a portrait in the future, maybe mixing two portraits of different people together?

Why not go and try this quick easy project out and share your results in the comments below.
